Marathon is proud to have collaborated with Alleanza Architecture to deliver a new 21st Century General Learning Facility for St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Orange, NSW. St Mary’s Catholic Primary School has a rich history of educating students from Orange and outlying central areas. St Mary’s has extensive grounds, and the new facilities were carefully planned to not encroach onto valued play space.
Marathon successfully completed two stages of construction for a project involving new buildings located in close proximity to each other and sharing nearly identical exteriors.
The projects encompassed a range of elements, including general learning areas, teacher spaces, break-out rooms, amenities, civil works, concreting, handrails, walkways, covered ways, services, infrastructure, and landscaping.
Some key features of these projects were the incorporation of open and flexible classroom spaces, vibrant modern interiors, LED linear lighting, brickwork, the architectural cola, and covered walkways that connected the new buildings with the existing ones.
The design of the new facilities was carefully planned to provide up-to-date teaching and learning environments, specifically catering to the needs of Years 2, 3, and 4 students. The contemporary design of the new facility stands as the College’s best alternative to traditional construction methods.
With the growing demand for quality Catholic education in Orange and the steady increase in enrolments, Marathon takes great pride in delivering new modular solutions, not just for the first stage but also for the second stage, contributing to the growth and success of this thriving school in the Central West region.
